IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society
We're the UCF student chapter of IEEE EMBS, the world's largest biomedical engineering society. Members come from across engineering to hear from people working in the field, pick up hands-on skills, and build medical devices of their own.

Projects
Our project teams design, wire, and test real devices. They take new members throughout the semester, and you don't need experience to start.
We're building a machine that pulls oxygen out of ordinary air — the same idea behind the units used in hospitals and at home. There's mechanical assembly, control programming, and plenty of testing to go around.
Building a device that picks up brain activity through the scalp, start to finish, instead of buying one off the shelf. Good for learning circuit design, signal processing, and the software side of turning a very faint signal into something readable.

Our main event. Chapter updates, a guest speaker or a hands-on segment, and time afterward to talk with students a few years ahead of you.
Skill sessions in soldering, instrumentation, and signal processing, plus project teams building real hardware. Come to what interests you.
Joining the society gets you scholarships, member rates at EMBC, and the full EMBS journal catalog. That's what the chapter can't hand out on its own.
Getting started
Find the next one on the calendar and show up. There's no form to fill in, and nobody asks you for dues at the door.
Workshops, speakers, outreach, or a build team. Take what you want and skip the rest — most members do.
Society membership opens up scholarships, conference rates, and the journals. Student rates are the lowest you'll ever be offered.
